movin' slow
okay, so i still don't have a proper post yet about The Boston Adventures of KT and Mdog. but this is worth about 221,000 198,000 words, right?
residual
as i just told kt on the phone, i basically feel like the guy from office space after he gets hypnotized. i walked in with my inbox stacked and papers everywhere, and i haven't felt the faintest urge to rush into anything. just plugging along, slow but steady, and i just recently found my desk again. hell, i haven't even checked my work voicemail. to say that i'm pretty chill about things right now would be an understatement.
the vacation, it lingers, and it is wonderful.
the way life should be
a few select vacation conversations.
kt: "i think that truck is on fire."
me: "oh. wanna get the hell outta here?"
michael: "i hadn't really noticed the twin thing before."
me: "that's because you haven't been hearing us look at each other."
kt: "there's no... you know...?"
me: "i know!"
me: "the trick to walking in sand is shorter steps."
kt: "uh, then i'll be prancing."
kt: "our vacation is complete."
mark: "oh, don't say that. that's sad."
kt: "no, it's good. it means we've met all of our goals!"
me: "oh, because it's not a vacation if you don't have goals!"
me: "trees... trees... TREES!"
kt: "you know, when you say it like that, it makes it sound like the trees are running into the road. please only use Urgent Voice when something is really urgent."
and, of course, quotes...
"by the way... you just totally turned on a red left arrow. over the train tracks, no less." - kt, on my driving skills
"why would you want a road that does that??" - kt, on us immediately looping back onto i-90 in watertown
"paul revere is scattered all over the city." - me, on the amount of historic paul revere monuments in boston
"that hole goes to new york!" - kt, on the descending i-90 west entrance at copley square
"we've been within three feet of each other all week." - kt, on being within three feet of each other all week
"something smells like fishy ocean water." - kt, on driving through maine
"i notice you have a quick downward spiral from 'munchy' to 'hungry' in about five minutes." - kt, on my eating needs
"my bag smells like vacation." - kt, on unpacking
