lights out
i was pulled over last night on my less-than-two-mile drive home from my friends' apartment. i was sort of amused because we had been discussing tickets and traffic stops earlier in the evening, but mostly i was irritated since i was SERIOUSLY ALMOST HOME.
not to worry; he quickly and politely informed me that my rear license plate light was out. thankfully the trooper did not mind me slightly exceeding the speed limit, nor did he care about the fact that my rearview mirror is STILL sliding around in my backseat, instead of being firmly attached to my windshield.
hopefully i will be able to remedy these two automotive problems when i get home, in this surprisingly warm late october evening.

I also have a traffic law story...as a wonderful welcome to Cleveland, I have been received two greetings in the mail from the traffic enforcement ppl. They sent me two pictures of me speeding downtown. Yes, they have cameras here to catch the speeders like me. Those who go 36 in a 25 zone. Twice.
They caught me in pictures dated August 31st and 28th. I did not get these until September 29th and October 3rd, respectively. This seems unfair so I am going to court to fight them.
So for you and all the other blog readers out there, if you come to visit Cleveland, don't speed or you will regret it a month later.
and i am alllllll about the cruise control. especially in zones where the speed limit is ridiculously slow. i'm less tempted to speed if i've got it set... i'll be sure to use it when visiting the great city of cleveland.
also: light bulb has been changed and mirror has been attached. yay me.
Also, lucky that you are not an overly nervous person.
I, on the other hand, would probably cry and refuse to drive my car if the mirrors were not all firmly attached.
At least you didn't break the mirror. 7 years of bad luck (not that we believe in that or knocking on wood).
they should have arrested you. :O)
