can't be true
it's around 5:00 and i'm standing at the bank counter, cashing my mileage check. another teller is at different window, already catering to her customer, as i overhear the conversation.
teller: ...we're open until 5:30.
client: um, well... i don't, uh...
teller: in order to cash a check i need to see a driver's license. we're open until 5:30, if that helps you.
client: i don't have one.
teller: ah... sorry?
client: a driver's license... i don't have one.
oh... did i mention this customer was at the drive through window?

At least I hope that is the story behind the story....
I work with a lot of people who get into trouble for driving under suspension. Seems like a stupid reason to get into trouble. And granted they had to do something to lose their license in the first place.
But I suppose they justify it with some thought like "I've got things to do, and I can't wait around all the time for someone to give me a ride." Espcially in a rural area, transportation is a major issue for people.
I'm certainly not condoning it. And I am amused by the above conversation. But I can see why someone might choose to drive without a license.
