nope... not a law. the legal part is that you can't lose your job. getting paid seems to be employer's discretion, though.
That's the best news ever. I love being paid for time away from work (even if it is jury duty).
they BETTER. that's just wrong if they don't. In mass, if your employer does not pay, or you are not currently employed, the state gives you a small amount of money per day (around $50 I think).
