holy $#^!

so i just went from "uh, yeah, maybe i'll go to colorado" to "do i want to fly back on the seventh, or the eighth?" in a span of about ten minutes.

but hey. when you see an Average Fare per Person of $97, that is QUITE an incentive.

colorado in december. sweet.

I've only been to Colorado once, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is really spectacularly beautiful and the dry cold doesn't feel as cold as it does where we live. Maybe you've been out there before, but a bit of advice; take some advil or some sort of pain medicine with you. The altitude headaches are a bitch the first day or two, but it's totally worth it.

i've heard FABULOUS things about colorado, but i've never been. i mean, i guess i may have been through at the age of five in the backseat of a car on a family vacation to california. but i hardly think that counts.

i've been wondering how the altitude adjustment will be. advice is duly noted and welcomed... i'll bring plenty of drugs. and if those don't help, i'll just yell at my friend i'm traveling there with/for. "WHAT'S WITH ALL THIS DAMN ELEVATION, WOMAN?" it will only be fair. she thinks ohio is "weird".

Colorado was beautiful in March. And I had no altitude issues. Running was a little challenge, but other than that, nothing. Just stay hydrated.

Colorado is BEAUTIFUL! My husband and I went there on our honeymoon. The mountains seriously take your breath away. GORGEOUS! You'll have a great time. Going skiing?

colorado in any month is good. but yes, bring pain killers and drink so much water you have to sleep in the tub at night. the first few days can be killer, especially if you're waaaay up there.

Never been to Colorado, but Quito, Ecuador is at 10,500 feet. Just don't try to walk up any stairs, especially not while carrying your luggage. (Yeah, I almost didn't make it.) The altitude with low levels of exertion didn't really bother me, but I hear it really messes with some people.

You're going to Colorado???! Cool! You have to promise me to sing that one John Denver song when you're there...

"Rocky Mountain Highhhhh.... Coloradooooooo"...

On a side note ( a VERY side note ) I had a childhood friend whose family moved to Colorado... her little sister had a speech impediment and couldn't say "Colorado" correctly... and so now every time someone says that word, a little voice pops into my head, saying "Cowawado".
"Wocky Mountain Hiiiiigh.... Cowawadooooo"...

okay, i'll just make tiff carry all my luggage. :)

i don't think flight 1463 will appreciate me singing 'rocky mountain high' as we cross over colorado airspace... i'll try to rustle up some ol' johnny d if can though.

Where in Colorado you headed?

I used to live there. Depending on elevation, I don't think you'll have too much trouble. Just watch extended periods of exertion. My absolute favorite thing about living in CO was taking visiting friends for a hike in the mountains. I am not in the greatest shape, but my altitude-acclimated body made me feel like a fearless explorer leading a weary expedition.

I should have challenged them all to a race. I might have actually won. And then the world would have ended.

I got sick just before leaving the top of Pike's Peak. It's 14,000 plus feet and we were up there awhile. I didn't have a problem otherwise. It's beautiful there!!! (Obviously you have already heard that!)
