recap
a recap of the day. partially dictated by susannah. in short choppy half-sentences, as this is all we can handle right now. persian. bridal shower. small talk. dancing -- with hand motions. food. mingling. for eight hours. little girls. many aunties. small talk. farsi. enormous [and delicious] cake. short escape to the car. more small talk. much persian food.
i reached my socializing limit about seven minutes in. after rachel and i picked up ali from the airport, he asked me how things were going.
"well... so far it's mostly been small talk and dancing. which are quite possibly my least favorite things in the whole entire world."
i'm a little exhausted. tomorrow is kind of a free day for me, and i'll be meeting up with an old friend and exploring san francisco. woot!

you did great.
I'm very pround of you. Maybe you can just go to lunch with a good friend so that around 12:45, when you start to crash... you can just sit there and not say anything. :)
does it make me a pansy if i'm kind of afraid?
the wallflower understands. small talk, dancing. sigh. rachel should be glad YOU'RE her friend as opposed to someone like me! :D
thanks, rachel.
paul, if that is anything like what you go through every week, i now understand if you never speak at lunch again. :)
gwyn, yes. no. well, maybe. do not be afraid, there is strength in numbers.
sjw, you're the first person i thought of during minute number eight yesterday. :)
Not a big fan of dancing either, but I could engage in small-talk with perfect strangers for days and not grow weary. Actually, I would hope that after days the conversation could become large- or at least medium-talk.
"dancing -- with hand motions."
tehe.
enjoy your day off! sounds like you earned it.
