the city

today i got a rad tour of the city from an old friend, including but not limited to: the golden gate bridge, the fisherman's wharf, his self-created 'axe murderer' tour, the haight and ashbury district, lombardo street, and chinatown. unfortunately, all the city driving [well, passenger-ing] induced a major headache for me at the end of the night, and i sorta turned into a minimally talkative crank. i felt terrible about it. thankfully he was awesome about it and also thankfully, during the drive back to san jose i started feeling better and was decently conversational again.
i'll post some pictures to flickr eventually, but for now i'll post a photo wherein the golden gate bridge was totally supposed to be in the background. so... um... if you squint... you can see it on the edge of the picture. sort of.
i should really never take self-portrait type pictures.
mostly though, i'm posting it as a "guess who?" game for a few of you from the message board days:
a years-long delayed beboard meetup. sam is my new favorite tour guide, and i am indebted to his generosity. it was a fantastic day. many, many thanks, my friend!

ah... i thought it was just a sam quote. i don't know who eddie is and have no idea what dvd you're talking about. though i predict pretty much no time for dvd watching...
it is eddie izzard. and he is teh awesome. i'll bring it anyway. maybe i can watch it while i sit in the closet and sew veils.
